Six Flags 2012

Last year, we got season tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure.  These are some pictures that I took one of the times that we went, just in case we lost anyone, we would have a picture of them!  We knew from experience that we always lose someone at some point or other.  It's usually the middle kids (read: Eliza).  For the most part, we find them almost immediately.  This trip, we didn't lose anyone - go figure!  Needless to say, I was very grateful!

Six Flags Great Adventure - 8/2010

Last year, we again got season passes to Six Flags.  The kids had so much fun.  These pictures were taken on August 14, 2010.

Six Flags has a young child area with a bunch of rides that Katie and Timmy could go on.  It was really cute.

Michael got us some nachos and this is what he found when he opened the cheese...ewwww!

We cooled off a bit in the arcade and Nathaniel and Eliza played air hockey.

Jonathon, Christian, Nathaniel, and Eliza waited in line for 45 minutes to go on the log ride.  I hope it was worth it!

These pictures were taken on August 31, 2010.  I think Eliza is excited to go to Six Flags, again!

It is very difficult to get a serious picture of Michael.  Jonathon tried 23 times while Michael and Timmy were on this ride and I didn't want to post them all, so here's two of them.

This groundhog had no fear of people, but just walked up and ate the food that was on the ground.  The last time we went, I saw a racoon.  The animals know where to go to find food!

The babies were so good.  It was fairly hot this day, so I took Katie into a water area.  I got the babies' shirts wet and rung them out so they were able to cool off.  They stayed very happy as long as I kept their tummies full!

The Last Trip of the Season

Michael took Jonathon, Christian, Nathaniel, and Eliza to Six Flags Great Adventure again last Saturday. There were almost no lines at all of the rides so they got to go on a lot of the rides before they had to come back for Christian's soccer game at 2:15. I'm so glad we decided to get season passes. The kids have had so much fun going with Michael. Well worth it since they went 7 or 8 times!

One of the rides they went on was "The Dark Knight." It is an indoor roller coaster that is almost pitch black. This picture was taken at an unexpected fall.

Michael bought this picture because of Jonathon's expression, but I think all of them are funny. Christian said he closed his eyes almost the whole time and this was probably the most animated that Nathaniel got on any of the rides.

Summer Comes to an End

The past couple of weeks before school starts has been expensive, but fun too.

The expensive part was shopping for school supplies (for 4 children it was about $300). We also went shoe shopping (almost $200). I took Eliza to get a haircut yesterday, but that was only $10. I've also started stocking up on food to go in their lunches.

The fun part was somewhat pricey too, but well worth it. We didn't go on vacation this year since we have a new baby, but we managed to have fun this summer anyway.

On Saturday, August 23, we took the kids to the shore. Our only trip to the ocean this year. Our beach umbrella broke last year and since this was our first trip this year, we tried to buy an umbrella. Unfortunately, every place we looked were sold out. It was a nice sunny day with a cool breeze, so we were comfortable, although the sun was a little bright. All of us, except Katie, ended up with sunburn somewhere on our faces. Michael looked like he had leopard legs.
I stayed by Katie (she slept most of the time in her car seat) and Timmy stayed by me the whole time. He didn't seem to have any interest in the water (whew!). All in all, it was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves...that is until we had to drive home. Michael had to pull over for a short nap and my car was making some weird noises, so I pulled over for a few minutes, too.

Last Tuesday, Ashleigh spent the night. She and Eliza had quite a bit of fun (as was obvious looking at her bedroom floor). Then on Wednesday, I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese and got 3 pizzas and about 350 tokens. Whitney, her kids, some friends met us there. We had a great time spending all the tokens! Eliza liked playing a racing car game.

Then, on Thursday, we went to the park and had a picnic. The kids found a small grove of trees and climbed them. Nathaniel got the highest.

On Friday, we went to the ward campout. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home, so I don't have any pictures.

This summer, we bought package season passes to Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, and the Safari. Michael has taken them several times. On Labor Day, Michael took the 3 oldest boys to Great Adventure. They left at 10 a.m. and got back about 11 p.m. They had a great time!! Jonathon's favorite ride was the Great American Scream Machine (and Medusa and Batman), Christian's favorite was Superman (and Medusa and Batman), and Nathaniel's was "all of them". This picture was taken on the Great American Scream Machine.

So, it's been a fun-filled couple of weeks and I think we're ready for school to start!
