Michael and I had our first almost-a-real-date in about a year last night. The reason that I say "almost" is that we brought Katie. The reason that I say "real date" is because we actually went to dinner and saw a movie. For a long time, we've only gone out when someone else makes the plans (like an adult church activity). It's also the first time that we haven't had to pay someone to watch the kids. Yay for having a teenager and built in babysitter!
Speaking of Jonathon, he LOVES to babysit. Last week we almost didn't go out and Jonathon said to me, "Mom, you have to go out!" I asked him why, and he told me, "So I can be in charge!"
(Pause)
"And I want to practice being an adult!"
